What is the Piotroski F-Score?
The Piotroski F-Score is a 0–9 scoring system developed by Stanford professor Joseph Piotroski to evaluate a company's financial health based on profitability, leverage, liquidity, and operating efficiency. Scores of 8–9 indicate strong financial fundamentals and have historically outperformed the market. Scores below 3 suggest financial distress. Each stock page computes this in real time from the latest quarterly SEC filings.
How is the DCF Fair Value calculated?
Our Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model projects free cash flows using historical growth rates from SEC 10-K filings, then discounts them to present value using a company-specific WACC (Weighted Average Cost of Capital). The DCF upside percentage compares this intrinsic value estimate to the current market price. A positive upside suggests the stock may be undervalued relative to its fundamentals.
What does the Altman Z-Score tell you?
The Altman Z-Score is a bankruptcy prediction model using five financial ratios: working capital, retained earnings, EBIT, market value of equity, and revenue — all relative to total assets. A Z-Score above 2.99 indicates a safe zone, between 1.81 and 2.99 is a gray zone, and below 1.81 suggests elevated bankruptcy risk. SecuritiesDB computes this for every stock with sufficient financial data.
